catalytic nature

Image
"There is a catalytic nature in moving with God. You might be surprised how many people would be willing to go with you if you lead the way." Erwin McManus Just as how Jonathan in the bible led the young armour bearer; how Nehemiah led the charge in rebuidling the wall, how Joshua led the people to the Promised Land and even how Frodo led the Fellowship, I'm convinced that if we would courageously move with God, it will affect others to move with God too. As I prepare to speak to SMU students this Thu at the Freshman Welcome Tea, I'm praying that God will insprire each person to be a His catalyst on campus. Pray with me that they will "shine out like stars in the universe as they (you) hold out the word of life" Phil 2:15 I'm so excited that I can speak to our first group of freshman contacts from SMU this Thu. But at the same time, I'm very afraid because I'm not good at public speaking. I still prefer individual or small group settings. Wil...

God is great!

Today at LIFE Meeting in Republic Polytechnic, two new students joined us, praise God! And actually they were from Singapore Poly and Nanyang Poly! Out of 8 students, there is only 1 gal. My prayers for more guys were answered, now we must pray for more gals to join us. We had a good time of sharing thanksgiving, Word and prayer. I'm simply encouraged by the students' desire to grow in the Lord. The students are having their holidays soon and I'll be organising some evangelism training for them. I think it's going to be an exciting month ahead! Also, we will be having a Welcome Tea for SMU freshmen on 1 Sept, and we'd really need prayers! On Sunday,my brother, who is going to Taiwan for training soon, asked me to pray for him that he will stay in Christ. I was simply amazed how God is transforming my brother's life, and I'm really praying that he will continue to grow to love God more and more.

Following Jesus

Whenever I get discouraged or worn out in ministry, I'll look back at what God has done. I like to click on "My Pictures" and scroll through the photos of students taken before. Recalling the faces and things I did together with the students never fail to rekindle that sometimes weak and flickering flame in me. Here are some pictures down memory lane - marks of God's faithfulness! 1.This is our first RP (Republic Poly) Outing at East Coast this year! 2.A LIFE Meeting at Temasek Polytechnic, where students gather to praise God! 3.My first birthday celebration with students at Temasek Polytechnic.. 4.Sending the first mission trip team from RP off to Thailand.. The past month has been a challenging one, I often find myself crying for help, or simply longing for rest in His care. I read in "Seizing your Divine Moment" (Erwin Raphael McManus) that "To follow Jesus is to enter the unknown, to relinquish security, and to exchange certainty for confidence i...

my new team mate

Image
After the recent staff movement, I've a new team-mate and she is Calyn! I'm really happy and thankful to God for her. I believe it's going to be an exciting and fun (though not easy) journey for us in the days to come. Please pray with us as we go out out of the boat into unfamiliar waters. We will be doing recruitment in SMU (Singapore Management University) this month. We really hope to find students whom want to reach their campus for Christ! ps: isn't the scooter cool? I spotted it when I was in CSU:) and check out Calyn looking coolz with her bike..

CSU conference

Image
About 5000 Campus Crusade staff from mostly from different parts of US, Canada, Brazil, Egypt, Trinidad and of us Singaporeans gathered in Moby Gym, in Colorado State University for the US staff conference. It was an awesome sight. Not just because of the size of the crowd but at how God has raised up so many people for His work and provided for all our needs. Everyday in the conference we had worship and heard from well known bible expositors like John Piper, Alice Matthews and Joe Stoewell. It encouraged my heart to learn about what God is doing in different parts of the world like the Middle East and East Asia. And most importantly, it gives me courage to trust God for spiritual movements everywhere. We had the opportunity to go up the Rockies. What beautiful mountains God has created, praise Him! One of the highlights was to meet up close and personal with the faith giants-including Mrs Vonette Bright, founder of Campus Crusade (with Dr Bill Bright) The trip was a much-neede...
