with love

Image
Organizing my Dad's birthday celebration has to be the most stressful among many others. This year is potluck style, unlike the usual buffet. It means a little more coordination and work, which might be easier if my aunties were easy-going. With apprehension and prayer I prepared what I could. Interestingly, I read an article this morning about a well known yoga master whom said something like anything done with love is done well. Somehow it reminded me that what's most important is that this party is done up with love. And I prayed that I would serve with love and that the celebration will reflect God's love for me. Well, hiccups came still - the ice cream cake came too early, my aunties sqaubbled abit, some left-over food- but I felt God's peace and assurance. As long as it is done with love.. "Love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful.." 1 Co

testing

It's been a rough going week for me. Somehow, negativity & doubts weighed heavily in my heart. But it set me praying more and seeking God desperately. During one such afternoon I opened the bible and read James. "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of different kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James 1:2-4 It was like God's personal note to me. And I was really encouraged. Friends prayed for me as I talked with them. I believe the prayers helped greatly in the battlefield of the mind, where I seemed to flail on my own. In subsequent quiet times God revealed my carnal heart attitudes towards people which I confessed. It was hard, but good. That led me to forgive by faith and reconcile with those I cared deeply for. Through the trials I faced this week, I'm seeing how God is amazingly at work in

CM 07, Korea

Image
It was an awesome sight and feel of people from different countries, races, languages praising God in unison. 15,000 people attended CM (Campus Mission) held at Busan, Korea (2nd Jul-5th Jul). Someone mentioned that this is a glimpse of heaven. I'm simply humbled that our Lord is far more immense and awesome than what I saw. I had been part of the Advance Team for this conference, helping in the logistics needed. After arrivingon 21st Jun, I settled with a family and another gal in a small hotel room. We had a 3 day orientation in which we were briefed on the administration and roles. We were grouped into teams and I was in Team N. In the midst of hard work, excitement and masses, serving alongside my team members was the highlight of the conference. I enjoyed the rare opportunity of working and knowing friends from other countries. Here are the people who made the difference in my 3 week stay in Korea.

evangelistic play

Image
It's a day after I returned from Korea. (More updates abt Korea soon). I decided to go for an evangelistic play that Maggie & Jacqueline were going to act in. They came back yesterday night also! It must be so tiring for them. Really touched my heart to see them working so hard. I could see the huge effort put in by the youths a St James Church. An auntie shared with me after the play that this is actually a Chinese congregation. But the youths decided to try putting up a play in English. I was moved, knowing that they and the church had chosen to step out of their norms to save the lost. And praise God 2 received Christ tonight!
